GoalDraft

Privacy Policy

Effective June 13, 2026. GoalDraft is built by Uptrail (hello@uptrail.ai). This policy describes what the app does with information, in plain language.

The short version

Your caseload lives on your device and in your personal iCloud. Our servers keep no student records. There is no account and no field for a student's name anywhere in the app. Text you send for drafting is de-identified, processed to generate your draft, and not retained.

What stays on your device

Students (identified only by the initials or nickname you choose), goals, data points, narratives, and session records are stored on your iPhone and synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit, in your private database. We cannot read your iCloud data. Deleting the app and its iCloud data removes it.

What reaches our servers

What we do not do

AI processing

Drafts are generated by an AI service operated on our infrastructure with a commercial model provider under terms that prohibit training on the data. Inputs are de-identified before processing as described above. Every draft is a starting point: the teacher reviews, edits, and decides. GoalDraft does not make legal or compliance claims about any document.

Students and FERPA

GoalDraft is designed so that student education records stay with the teacher: identity stays on your device, and drafting requests are de-identified before leaving it. Many districts treat properly de-identified information as outside FERPA's disclosure restrictions, but district policies vary. A one-page summary for your district IT is available in the app's settings, and we are happy to answer district questions at hello@uptrail.ai.

Children

GoalDraft is for teachers and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
